No prior experience necessary
Join the Friends at one of our Shiawassee River Watershed Stream Team monitoring sites for the biannual river critter collection.
Volunteers will act as citizen scientists by collecting benthic macroinvertebrates. We can learn a lot about water quality by the types and quantities of the bugs that we find...or don't find. The information we collect from Owosso, Corunna, Byron, St. Charles, and Chesaning will give our communities an appraisal of our watershed’s health. If you like to have fun and want to experience a day in the life of a scientist or are just curious about these things, check your calendar, call us and confirm your spot on a team, and join us out on our river.
