MDCH Eat Safe Fish Guide for Southeast Michigan
Some fish contain chemicals that can harm your health. The Michigan Department of Community Health tests filets of fish taken from Michigan's lakes and rivers to learn which fish are safest to eat. The Eat Safe Fish Guide lists the fish that have been tested and provides recommendations on how much is safe to eat. To view the results of fish from the Shiawassee River in Shiawassee county, view pages 49-50.
