The Friends of the Shiawassee River is a Non-profit organization that was founded in 1996. Our mission is to care, to maintain and improve the water quality and habitats of the Shiawassee River watershed; share, to enhance the community's appreciation and knowledge of the river, especially among youth; and enjoy, to increase recreational access and responsible use of the Shiawassee River.

Friends of the Shiawassee River Annual Meeting Tuesday, February 21, 2012 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Shiawassee Arts Center Join us in celebrating our success in 2011, as well as find out what we have in store for 2012! The theme for this year's meeting is "Community Approaches to Connected and Healthy Rivers." Light refreshments will be provided for the FREE event. Donations will be accepted. The Shiawassee Summit Friday, April 13, 2012 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Baker College of Owosso Welcome Center Join us for the first ever Shiawassee Summit! Organizations from across the watershed are invited to participate in the event aimed at increasing collaboration and partnership of like-minded groups from across the Shiawassee River watershed. The invitation is extended to government, non-profit, municipality and recreation groups whose work affects the watershed.
