Join the St. Charles Stream Team to collect aquatic bugs and monitor river health!
With the help of volunteer leaders, attendees will collect benthic macroinvertebrates (aquatic bugs) from the Bad River in order to learn more about the river's health. The information gathered will be interpreted and shared with local and state governments to help gain a clearer picture of water quality within the Shiawassee River Watershed. For more information on the Stream Team program, check out our program page.
Please come dressed in clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. All sampling equipment will be provided, but you may bring your own waders if you'd like. This activity is intended for adults and kids middle school age or older, but younger children with a sincere interest in the activity may participate with adult supervision.
If you have any questions about participation or the event, please contact Doug Holem (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Devin Gill (email@example.com).
