Wood Debris Removal Training

Training Session Thursday May 16, 2019, 6 PM

Headwaters Trails will be hosting a free short course in Woody Debris Management on Thursday May 16, 2019.  The class will be at the Gazebo off LeRoy Road in Fenton's Bush Park, starting at 6:00 pm.  This class is preparation for work on the Shiawassee River the following Saturday and Sunday.  Group leaders will be identified.  Volunteers can choose which group they would like to go with and will learn where each group will meet on Saturday and Sunday.  Headwaters Trails will be serving pizza to all the people who show up for the training session.  This training session is open to all who want to learn to manage woody debris in a manner approved by the MDEQ, including those who do not wish to join us on the river May 18-19.  Members of the Shiawassee River Water Trail Coalition are encouraged to join the class.  A handout on Best Practices will be distributed.
