Stream Monitoring

Join us for stream monitoring along the Shiawassee River!

We will monitor as many of our 11 sites as possible April 25 - 30, but we need volunteers to help us collect this important data! The following is week reserved for make-up events. Contact Sarah at sbaker@shiawasseeriver.org today to get involved!

Here are some facts about our program you may not know:

1. Anyone can be a citizen scientist! We will teach you everything you need to know on site and we provide all the equipment. 
2. We need volunteers for both school group events and events open to the public.
3. You don't have to go into the river! We need volunteers to sort through trays with the materials collected from the river and we need volunteer to walk the materials back and forth to the river. 
4. You'll likely be surprised at what we find, learn something new, and have fun while volunteering for this program!
